The project
Ricorsi Multe Italia (“Fine Appeals Italy”) was an iPhone app for people who receive a traffic fine or a payment order in Italy and want to contest it without wasting time on offices and forms.
It worked simply: you photograph or scan the document, send it from the app with a short form and receive the appeal already drafted, ready to file. The price of the consultation depended on the penalty being contested and was shown right away, before buying.

How to contest a fine, in brief
Against a Highway Code penalty in Italy you can file an appeal to the Prefect, within 60 days of the contestation or of the notification of the report, or an opposition before the Justice of the Peace, within 30 days. They are two alternative routes.
If the Prefect rejects the appeal, the payment order can be challenged before the Justice of the Peace within 30 days of its notification.
Deadlines run from the date of the contestation or notification, so it pays to act early. These lines are informative and do not replace professional advice: always check the deadlines for your case with the Prefecture or a lawyer.
What we did
- Design of the user experience and of the app interface.
- Development of the iPhone app.
- A menu of penalties with a price that updates with the choice, and online purchase.
- A form to send the fine with an attachment, delivered to the team by email.
- Connection of the support chat channels (Apple Business Chat and WhatsApp).
- Preparation and publication on the App Store.
